Shafaq News/ Israel launched a raid on munitions warehouse in al-Saqer camp southwest of Baghdad on Sunday, sparking panic among residents of nearby areas, a security source said.

"It is clear that we are facing a real bone-breaking battle between the United States and Israel on one hand, and Iran and its allies in Iraq on the other. It is also clear that the two parties have chosen Iraq as the ground for their undeclared battle,” Asharq al-Awsat newspaper quoted a security source.

"All indications are that Israel is completing, perhaps with the support of the United States, what it started in Syria in targeting the positions of Iranian multinational forces," the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The source said that it is likely that "Iraq did not announce the results of the planned investigation into the latest bombing incident, as happened in the bombing of the Martyrs Camp in Amerli last month, because that disturbs the Iranians, as they have adopted a strategy for years not to announce the Israeli and American targets for their positions in Syria and later in Iraq".

The Iraqi Prime Minister ,Adel Abdul-Mahdi accompanied by the Minister of Interior and leaders in the Popular Crowd have inspected a munitions warehouse in al-Saqer camp southwest of Baghdad, belonging to the crowd.

A statement by Abdul Mahdi's office said that the latter was briefed on the reality of the incident and the measures taken after the explosions in the munitions stores and listened to the initial reports from various parties, as well as a report on the number of casualties among citizens.

There were conflict stories of the targeting process between those who point to the targeting of the site by US or Israeli aircraft, and those who believe that what happened was due to poor storage income in the incident. There were also conflicting reports about the ownership of the camp and the party that operates it as well as the nature of the stored weapons, but Interior Ministry spokesman , Saad Maansaid in a statement, that the amass of equipment belonging to the Federal Police and the Popular Crowd and that the explosion wounded 13 people, including two federal police and four elements from the crowd, the explosions were strong.

The strongest statements related to who owns the ammunition came from the Deputy Prime Minister and Former leader of the Sadrist movement Bahaa al-Araji, who said, "Through the nature of the fire in the warehouse   in Saqer camp, it appears that the nature of the burned weapons is unusual, not used by Iraqi forces nor even by the popular crowd. "

He added in a tweet on Twitter: "So we think it is a trueness we have from a neighboring country, and this trueness was targeted from an unjust colonial state based on a treacherous Iraqi tale," in a clear reference to the pile of equipment owned by the Iranian state.
