Source: Moving and freezing leaders opposed to Iranian influence is being organized
Shafaq News/ The recent decisions of Iraqi Prime Minister , Adel Abdul Mahdi by changing the leaders of the military of the first row who represent the top of the pyramid has faced a wave of strong political criticism as those decisions are considered as an abuse to the roles of leaders who had a wide impact in the liberation of Iraqi provinces from ISIS occupation.
Abdel Mahdi's recent decision to remove the chief of the counter terrorism agency, Lieutenant General ,Abdul Wahab al-Saadi from his post and refer him to the department of the Ministry of Defense as well as the transfer, freeze, removal and retirement decisions for several senior leaders, raising concerns about the impact of those decisions on the security arena and the political situation in the country, with some saying it was a reflection of the political conflict in the region between the United States and Iran, especially as these decisions excluded the leaders of the anti-Iranian camp.
Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed quoted a senior security official as saying that "the recent decision taken to exclude al-Saadi from his position was not separate from the previous ones, which affected the first-line leaders and other officers who had a prominent role in the liberation battles; less than a year ago before al-Sa'adi were as follows ; Major General Commander of the Second Special Operations Command, Maan al-Saadi, Commander of the Third Special Operations Department, Lieutenant General , Sami Al-Ardi, Nineveh Operations Commander, Major General Najm al-Jubouri, Deputy Commander Major-General ,Karim al-Shuwaili, Land Forces leader , Former Lieutenant-General , Riad al-Obeidi, the commander of the federal police team , Raed Shakir Jawdat, commander of Anbar Operations and Major General Mahmoud al-Falahi, as well as the decisions of transferring and freezing five senior officers in the leadership of al-Jazzera and the desert operations, and others in leadership of Salah al-Din operations. "
The official stressed that "transferring, freezing and retirement, are conducted in an orderly manner, targeting leaders who have been known as rejecters to the Iranian influence in Iraq, and have shown clear cooperation and coordination with the US side and the international coalition during the liberation operations," noting that "these leaders are the best leaders of the Iraqi military institution and that their curriculum vitae are full of victories and successes in military action, and no notes were made around them requiring dismissal or freezing. "
He said that "the information available to us confirms that there are other officers will take subsequent decisions to exclude them from their posts, all officers who are far from the Iranian line," saying that "those decisions are in response to pressure on Abdul-Mahdi from the Iranian side, and leaders of the Popular Crowd, which seeks to weaken the regular military establishment in Iraq, in return for the support of the Popular Crowd forces.
