Shiite blocs object Maliki’s nomination for a third term

State of Law coalition had announced more than one occasion after the announcement of legislative elections that it had held at the end of last April that its only candidate for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers is its leader , Nuri al-Maliki .

A statement issued by the National Alliance reported for " Shafaq News " , said that " the political body of the Iraqi National Coalition held its regular meeting yesterday at the headquarters of the political body of the Sadrist movement and the presence of all its political powers ."

He added that the coalition reviewed the " developments in the political scene and concluded several points in its closing statement, the most important is to adhere to the National coalition ," stressing " its opposition to the State of law for the violations committed by them by offering a government program and a political candidate, away from the National coalition ."

The statement noted " the coalition discussed the development of criteria to select the next prime minister as the coalition decided to form a joint delegation to communicate with the national forces ," explaining that " the coalition blessed the elections in Egypt ."
