Shafaq News/ Protesters blocked roads leading to five oil fields and two ports in the southernmost province of Basra by setting fire to old tires, an official security source said on Monday.

The source told Shafaq News that the protesters blocked this morning roads leading to sites and oil fields in al- Zubair district west of Basra.

The source pointed out that the roads that were blocked in Zubair are: al-Shuaiba oil refinery road, al-Barjasiya oil city road, the road leading to al-Rumaila area, and the road leading to the oil well 20 area.

The source added that the protesters in Khor Al-Zubair area blocked all roads leading to the iron , steel, fertilizers and cement plant and the ports of Khor Al-Zubair and Umm Qasr port .

Protesters blocked the road outside the Bin Omar oil field in al- Dir area north of Basra and prevented employees from reaching it, the source said.
