Shafaq News / This morning, angry protesters blocked the road leading to two ports in the southernmost province of Basra.

A local official told Shafaq News that angry protesters from Khor Al-Zubayr are blocking the ports of Khor Al-Zubayr and Umm Qasr, announcing their refusal to nominate Asaad Al-Eidani for the post of prime minister.

(Al-Benaa) Construction Alliance, led by Secretary-General of Badr Organization, Hadi al-Amiri, and Head of the State of Law Coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, nominated the current governor of Basra, Asaad al-Eidani for the position of Prime Minister after withdrawing thw nomination of, Muhammad al-Suwani and Qusay al-Suhail.

The demonstrators in the protest squares in the capital, Baghdad and the southern governorates, expressed strong rejection for Al-Idani’s candidacy for the mentioned post.
