President of Kurdistan Federation of Islamic scholars visits al- Sistani
, Ali al-Sistani to get to know the position of Marjiyaa from the policy pursued by Prime Minister , Nuri al-Maliki towards Kurdistan Region .
Differences between Erbil and Baghdad have escalated in recent times after Baghdad cut the money in which Erbil pay the salaries of the staff of the region for two months, after the ongoing negotiations between the two sides reached a dead end on reaching a compromise formula to pass the Iraqi budget bill for the current year .
Baghdad demands Erbil to export 400 000 barrels of produced crude oil in the region and transform its revenue into a special account for the Iraqi government over the national oil company " SOMO ," but Erbil rejects this demand and insists on exporting its oil through the new Turkish pipeline under the supervision of the Kurdish oil company " COMO"
Mullah Saeed said in an interview with " Shafaq News " , that” the visit which is due to be paid by Sunday is to inform religious authorities in Najaf that the policy followed by al-Maliki against Kurdistan Regional is "wrong ."
He added that he would convey the demands of the Kurds and the Federation of Islamic scholars in Kurdistan for the Marjiyaa to resolve its position on this issue , noting that the religious Marjiyaa has always positive positions towards the Kurds so it has to take a positions towards this policy.
The religious Marjiyaa in Najaf didn’t announce any positions towards the crisis between Erbil and Baghdad yet.
