Pre-emptive operation launched in Iraq: ISIS may exploit Corona

Shafaq News / The Iraqi forces launched the "Spring of the Great Victories " operation on Monday to "cleanse" Nineveh and Salahuddin Jazerra from ISIS.

The Iraqi Popular Mobilization said in a statement, "Brigade 44 and 51, the Nineveh operations of the Popular Mobilization, military engineering and explosive control with the support of the Army Air Force and the armor fighting in the Popular Mobilization Forces, as well as the participation of the tactical regiment, Swat regiment and two Iraqi army regiments, carried out the major spring of victories operation to end ISIS in Nineveh and Salahuddin Jazerra.

He added, "The operation was carried out on the basis of intelligence information indicating the entry of armed groups from the Syrian border, taking advantage of the country's concern with Corona virus."
