PMF foil a new attack by ISIS aimed to open a gap in two provinces
Shafaq News/ Nineveh Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) clarified on Tuesday the nature and purpose of the ISIS attack on the urban sector south of Mosul city last night.
The command said in a statement today that "elements of PMF Brigade (44) of the Operations Command, repelled a large attack by ISIS in the urban sector south of Mosul last night, as it aimed to open a gap to affect the towns of southern Nineveh and northwest of Salah al-Din as well as cutting the highway. "
The statement added that the fighting took place several hours since last night until 3a.m. in which PMF used heavy and medium mortars of 120 and 82 mm in addition to the role of night vision cameras and the courage of our heroes in resolving the situation and defeating the criminal groups.
