Nujaifi rejects “Union”: it disperses Sunnis and refuses to Maliki’s next term

Nujaifi Considered the Union as a distracting factor to Sunni MPs and refused to tolerate the efforts of Prime Minister , Nuri al-Maliki to the post for a third term .

An initial agreement has been announced for the formation of the National Forces Union after the issuance of the results of the parliamentary elections held on 30 of April in a move to standardize Sunni’s speech before the start of negotiations to form a government .

It was hoped to release an official announcement of an alliance among Mutahedoun , Wehdah al-Iraq , al-Khalas , Diyala our identity , Abnaa al- people and Wehda al-Wafaa for Anbar addition to a number of independent MPs .

But the last period has witnessed a divergence in the views of leaders and Sunni MPs on the formation of the next Iraqi government , particularly the position of al-Maliki on the third term , which threatens to shatter the entity before its birth .

Nujaifi said in a statement reported for " Shafaq News " that he " refused to continue in the project of national forces Union because we found it aims to set up a bloc that tolerate in the refusal of the third mandate for Maliki under the pretext of non-interference in the selection of a candidate of the National Alliance , as well as the establishment of a new bloc under the pretext of assembling the pieces of Sunni MPs in other lists . "

The accusations have been widely directed to Salim al- Jubori , the leader of Diyala our identity coalition, in which the Union said that it supports any candidate backed by the National Alliance to lead the next government .

This trend goes contrary to what the vast majority of MPs and leaders of the Sunni blocs who have declared their refusal to give al-Maliki a third term and accuse him of marginalizing the Sunnis as they blamed him for the decline in the security and political divisions in the country.

Nujaifi added, "These excuses will weaken the refusal of the Supreme Council and the Sadrists to Maliki for Sunnis acceptance to him, it also disperse Sunni MPs in order to facilitate attracting the material interests of away from the electoral projects “.

Maliki has topped the results of the election with 95 seats and allied with small blocs during the past few days to raise his coalition’s seats to 112 but he faces widespread opposition from Sunnis , Kurds and some Shiite parties.
