Night protests renewed and volunteer ambulance detachment targeted

Shafaq News/ Dozens of demonstrators in Tahrir Square in central Baghdad were injured as night protests renewed for the second day in a row.

Shafaq News reporter said that military reinforcements headed towards the middle of al-Jomhoriya Bridge and fired grenades directly at the demonstrators, pointing out that dozens were wounded in Tahrir.

The security forces targeted a volunteer ambulance detachment in Tahrir Square carrying wounded protesters, which led to the injury of its cadre, according to the reporter.

The correspondent said that the forces forced the demonstrators to retreat towards al-Naser Square and Batawin alleys due to the intensity of releasing gas and sound bombs.
