MPs from al- Iraqiya list visit Ahmed al-Alwani in prison

The Iraqi security forces arrested MP Ahmed al-Alwani, a Sunni member of al- Iraqiya List at dawn on Saturday after a raid on his home in Ramadi in Anbar province.

“Today we will visit Ahmed al-Alwani at 12 p.m. and will start a meeting At four p.m. with the Parliament Speaker , Osama al-Nujaifi ,”The MP , Talal Zobaie al-Khudair told “Shafaq News”.

Zobaie rejected to mention the reasons of the visit or meeting al-Nujaifi .

The situation in Anbar province has tensed in the past few hours significantly in conjunction with the arrest of al-Alwani and the implementation of a military operation in Anbar on the background of killing a military commander in the Iraqi army.

Following this process, MPs of Motahedoun coalition and the National Dialogue Front announced their withdrawal from the Iraqi parliament in a sign of escalating political and security tensions in the country.
