MP: 4-member committee failed to reach any conclusions about the budget
"The Presidency of the parliament wanted to delay the formation of the 4-member committee to waste time until the parliamentary elections for political goals to prevent adoption of the budget before the election ,” Sayhood told “Shafaq News”.
“Some political parties worked to compliment Kurdistan Alliance and the Presidency of Kurdistan Region for political goals and stood against the completion of a quorum for approving the budget ," stressing " the absence of any measures to ensure the budget approval before the election ,” he added.
The parliament has formed last week, a 4- member committee comprising of Deputy of Parliament Speaker , Qusay al-Suhail and Aref Tayfur as well as MPs of Salman al-Jumaili and Haider Abadi to find quick solutions to the budget crisis .
The issue of export of oil from the region is considered of the contentious issues between Baghdad and Erbil that caused the failure of Iraq to pass the budget for the current year after the rejection of the Kurdish side to paragraphs considers as sanctions against the region .
Some of the paragraphs of the budget bind Erbil to export 400 000 barrels of oil per day , through the Iraqi oil marketing company " SOMO " , otherwise the federal government will cut the region's share of the budget , which was rejected by the Kurdish blocs in parliament and boycotted meetings of the parliament to read and voted on it .
