The head of the Kurdistan Region Massoud Barzani announced, last Friday, that he  agreed with the leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Jalal Talabani that any change will not occur in the Presidency of the Kurdistan Regional Government till the end of this year.
"The Kurdish leadership has given priority to resolve disputes and outstanding issues between Baghdad and Erbil, specially that the Regional government to come to negotiations with the federal government on those issues that are crucial and of great importance for the Kurds ". The MP for the coalition of Kurdish blocs Ashwaq Aljaff said in an interview with "Shafaq  News
The two major parties in the Region of Kurdistan, have signed in 2007 " strategic agreement " between them sharing whereby the presidency of the Regional government and the parliament of Kurdistan, that are exchanged  presidencies between the two parties every two years and the mandate of the candidate of the Patriotic Union, Barham Salih will end, with the end of the current  month while the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Kurdistan will hold it . Aljaff called , "The delegation of Regional  government to speed up to go to Baghdad and to start the discussions on outstanding issues, so that the two major parties can make the devolution of power as was agreed upon," asserting that "the exchange of power in the Kurdistan Region is an internal affair and will happen early next year without any constraints and obstacles. "
"Talks of the delegation of regional government with the political blocs and the federal government in Baghdad will be based on three axes, one of them is the contentious issues relating to agreements between the political blocs, and the other is the remainder of the paper, the Kurdish , and the outstanding problems between Erbil and Baghdad, The leader of the coalition of Kurdish blocs, Mahmoud Othman, has revealed to "Shafaq  News" that "noting that" The delegation would arrive in Baghdad this week. "
The main outstanding issues between the KRG and the federal government are : The enactment of the oil and gas, and the application of Article 140 of the Constitution, and the allocation of a budget for the Peshmerga, which are the most important conditions of the Kurds paper participating in negotiating with the current government.
