Kurdish delegation headed by Barzani Arrives Baghdad

The government delegation includes Nechirvan Barzani , his deputy Imad Ahmed , Minister of Natural Resources , Ashti Hawrami , the Minister of Planning , Ali Sindi and KRG spokesman , Saven Dezia .

A senior Kurdish source told “Shafaq News", that “Barzani and the Kurdish delegation started upon arrival in Baghdad , a meeting with Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister , Hussain al-Shahristani , Minister of Oil , Abdul Karim al-Laeebi and Maliki’s Deputy Minister , Safaa al-Deen al-Safi .

Until this moment , It is not clear if a meeting took place between KRG delegation and Prime Minister , Nuri al-Maliki.

President of Kurdistan Region , Massoud Barzani held yesterday a meeting with the political bureau of Kurdistan Democratic Party regarding the formation of the next Kurdish government, , declaring that the Prime Minister , Nechirvan Barzani will visit Baghdad on Monday at the head of a high level delegation .

Nechirvan Barzani visited Baghdad last month and held a meeting with Prime Minister , Nuri al-Maliki to discuss the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad on export oil through the new Turkish pipeline and the general budget draft as well as the region's share of it.

Al-Maliki announced, according to press reports , the details of the agreement that was between him and the President of KRG, which was hereby agree on several main points relating to the process of oil export and that oil export operations must be with the approval of the federal government and the delivery of its contracts to the center, the sale of oil exported by global prices , deposit revenues in Iraq’s Fund in New York , a fund that had been created since 2003 .

The issue of the extraction , production and export of oil from Kurdistan region to Turkey according to agreements between the two sides is considered of the main points of disagreement between Erbil and Baghdad , where Erbil insists on the constitutionality of its procedures while Baghdad reject the export of oil without its consent and deposit sold amounts at SOMO .
