Islamist party confirms Kurd’s right on three positions to reach balance
The leader in Kurdistan Islamic Union , Muthana Amin said in an interview with " Shafaq News " , that “ his party believes that these benefits are of the Kurdish right, stressing that all winning parties in the election must take their right and that there is a consultation on the issue .
The Presidency of Kurdistan Region said that "the president of the Federal Republic of Iraq is of the right of Kurdistan people and we will seek with all our effort in order to get this position to the Kurdish people ."
As confirmed in a statement a few days ago , the need to have a candidate for this position with the approval of Kurdistan Parliament.
Amin said that his party adopts a mechanism of Kurdistan Parliament as a reference to decide on the nomination of figures for the post of President of the Republic so as not to be in accordance with partisan and personal issues.
He pointed out that the Islamic Union believes that the three positions (the presidency and deputy prime ministers and deputy speaker of parliament ) is of the Kurd’s right " it should be the share of the Kurds if talking about modern and consensual Iraqi state."
Amin stressed the need to compensate the position of Kurds as alternative of Parliament Speaker’s post if the Presidency was given to another components .
Jalal Talabani , a Kurdish headed the presidency in Iraq during the past two sessions .
According to the political custom practiced in Iraq since 2003, The Kurds take the Presidency, while Shiites take Prime minister position and Sunnis tale the Presidency of the Parliament.
Media talked about assigning the post to Sunnis in the current session which would anger the Kurds who waved more than once to split from Iraq.
The political blocs are looking forward to the results of the elections at a time it seems that the State of Law coalition led by al-Maliki confident of winning and forming the next government on the basis of the political majority .
He sought to fill the post of prime minister for the third time in a row at a time expanded the base opposed to this endeavor of the year and even his opponents within the Shiite National Alliance .
