Shafaq News / After recording Corona virus infections in Iraq, airlines canceled flights to the country, causing Iraqis to be stuck to appeal for their return.

"We call on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport and the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority to pay attention to the file of Iraqis in Turkey who have recently traveled for tourism or other reasons as we have received appeals that airlines have canceled their booked and prepaid return trips to Iraq after the suspension of flights announcement between Turkey and Iraq officially due to Corona's disease recently,” the member of the Commission for Human Rights, Ali al-Bayati, said in a statement today.

He pointed out that "according to the two days appeals, there are promises for them to return them to Iraq, and they will be transferred from one city to another without fixed timing, with indications of their exploitation."

On Saturday, Turkish Health Minister Fakhreddin Kocaeli said that all air flights to and from Italy, Iraq and South Korea had been stopped due to the outbreak of Coruna virus.

He added that this procedure will be implemented from 12 a.m. on Sunday and that all land crossings between Turkey and Iraq had also been closed. Turkey had previously suspended passenger flights to and from Iran and China.
