Iraqi Sunni group calls to take up arms against "Daash"

The Deputy of al-Sistani in Karbala, Sheikh Abdel Mahdi al-Karbalai announced, yesterday in the Friday sermon that responding to attacks by armed groups in Iraq is the duty of all parties, pointing out that the person being killed during the defense of the land of Iraq is considered a "martyr."

A statement by the group, reported for "Shafaq News" that “Iraqi scientists group - the general headquarters in Baghdad calls to take up arms against "Daash" and "hired mercenaries" and preserve the national identity.

The security events have accelerated in Iraq over the last few days, where militants of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant took control on the city of Mosul, 400 km north of Baghdad.

Militants and insurgents have entered Salahuddin and Kirkuk provinces as news were not clear if they entered Tikrit city and seized the city.

The Iraqi forces have withdrew abruptly from their positions in Mosul , Salahuddin and Kirkuk areas.
