Iraq renews its warning of a "devastating" war in the region with "serious" repercussions for the world

Shafaq News / The Iraqi Foreign Minister , Muhammad Ali al-Hakim warned on Monday of a "devastating" war in the region if situation worsened  between America and Iran.

Al-Hakim said in a joint press conference with his Belgian counterpart, Philip Goffin ,who is currently visiting Baghdad, that "we discussed bilateral issues between the two countries and talked about foreign fighters and their return to their countries and focused on women and children."

"We talked about efforts to reduce tension between Iran and America and spare the region from a devastating war, with serious repercussions for the world," he added.

For his part, Goffin said during the conference that "the stability of Iraq is important to us," stressing his country's support for Iraq.
