Iraq on the brink of health disaster: Iraqi official says

Shafaq News / An urgent meeting between the parliamentary and governmental crisis cells in the presence of the head of the Supreme Committee for Health and National Safety Mustafa Al-Kadhimi must be held  to find out the reasons for the large increase in the number of people infected with the virus  , Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi, first deputy speaker of the parliament, head of the Parliamentary Crisis Cell to curb Corona pandemic, called on Thursday.

According to a statement from his office, Al-Kaabi criticized what he described as the slow and non-serious measures generally followed by the state regarding combating this "deadly" epidemic.

He said that this resulted in high casualties in most areas of Baghdad, especially Rusafa side and even Karkh (Rusafa and Karkh are district in Baghdad dividing into two sides ) during the past few days, as well as the rest of the provinces despite the implementation of a total lockdown  two days before Eid Al-Fitr, stressing that the Parliamentary Crisis Cell had repeatedly warned of the danger of complacency from imposing precautionary and preventive measures on the areas that have been exposed and topped the casualty index.

The head of the Parliamentary Crisis Cell called for a realistic , concrete plan and urgent decisions to be taken according to the current circumstances and data, again warning of a major health and human catastrophe and the possibility of a health system collapse in all hospitals in the country if all the current methods are not changed.
