Iraq foils smuggling of antiquities and arrests the involved traders

Shafaq News/The Integrity Commission announced on Thursday that it was able to foil a major smuggling operation in Dhi Qar province.

The arrest was carried out by a judicial warrant, the Commission's Investigations Department pointed out that the investigating staff in Dhi Qar province had foiled a major smuggling operation in the province, pointing out that four traffickers were involved in the smuggling operation as they had been caught red-handed.

The Department pointed out that the arrested suspects wanted to smuggle quantities and important artifacts, as the operation was accompanied by   shooting on the teams of the Bureau of Investigation of the Commission by the defendants.
