Germany suspends training Iraqi forces and continues operations in Kurdistan
Shafaq News / The German army suspended its training mission in central Iraq for 14 days as a preventive measure against Corona virus.
The spokesman said, "The leadership of the anti-ISIS coalition (Solid Resolve Operation) has taken a decision in this regard."
Thus, the training mission in Taji military complex near Baghdad has been suspended from Sunday, while training operations are continuing in Erbil city in Kurdistan.
According to the spokesman, there are no cases of suspected or possible infection by German soldiers or related persons in central Iraq.
It should be noted that the training mission in central Iraq was suspended last January in the context of the implications of the tensions between the United States and Iran.
The Ministry of Health and Environment in Iraq announced yesterday the discovery of two new confirmed cases of the new Corona virus in Baghdad (Rusafa), bringing the number of cases to 26.
