Diyala closes two border ports with Iran

Shafaq News / Diyala police leadership announced on Wednesday, that "al-Munthiriya and Mandali" ports bordering Iran were completely closed as a precaution to prevent the emergence of the new Corona virus, while the provincial health department confirmed the quarantine of two people suspected of being infected with Corona virus.

Diyala police chief, Major General Hamid Al-Shammari said during a joint press conference with Director General of Diyala Health Ali Hussein Al-Tamimi, that "according to the demands and directives of Diyala Health Department, the ports of Al- Munthiriya and Mandali were completely closed, in addition to prevent gatherings."

For his part, Director General of Diyala Health Department ,Ali Hussein Al-Tamimi said during the press conference, "The department has not yet recorded a confirmed case of the disease, but has suspicions of two cases that were placed in quarantine until the appearance of the tests and the confirmation of the infection or not."

Al-Tamimi pointed out that "the department has applied all measures that can combat the disease and prevent its spread," calling to" stop the import of goods because the virus can live on surfaces, which may lead to its entry through imported goods and its spread, in addition to reducing gatherings, closing cafes”.

Al-Tamimi stressed that "health teams are testing all Iraqi arrivals."
