Barzani calls Region’s inhabitants to help Mosul migrants

Barzani said in a statement reported for "Shafaq News", that after “ the "defeat" of army and the Iraqi security forces to protect the population and Mosul city, the troops of the so-called Islamic state in Iraq and the Levant "Daash" seized control of Mosul city, indicating that it has become a "major threat" and Mosul residents were forced to leave the city to protect their lives from the bombing and lack of food and service.

Barzani added that during the past two days, his government's expressed many attempts to find a coordination with the Iraqi government to protect Mosul city , but Baghdad’s position didn’t help in the construction of a joint coordination in this regard.

Barzani called the population of the province and the UN organizations to help displaced people from Mosul in all ethnic groups of Kurds, Arabs , Turkmen, Chaldeans and Assyrians in the framework of legal and security procedures.

He also called for UNHCR to relief the displaced people.

Barzani assured Kurds who are in areas outside the control of the Kurdish region to protect them, stressing that the security forces and Peshmarga are fully prepared to protect those areas.

The security sources have confirmed the control of "Daash" insurgents on large parts of Mosul, including building , a number of top security and military centers and the airport during the past few hours.
