Baghdad hosts "OPEC" meeting
Shafaq News / The Iraqi Minister of Culture , Abdul Amir al-Hamdani revealed an upcoming meeting of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in Baghdad next September.
Al-Hamdani said in a statement to "Al-Sabah newspaper ", which is semi-official issued on Thursday, that the ministry had partnered with the Iraqi Oil Products Marketing Company, affiliated to the Ministry of Oil to rehabilitate Al-Shaab Hall in Al-Maydan area in Baghdad to host a meeting of (OPEC).
The minister added that this meeting coincides with the 60th anniversary of the founding of this organization in 1960 in Baghdad, indicating that the hall will be fully qualified by the company.
For his part, spokesman of the Oil Ministry, Assem Jihad said that the ministry has formed committees to prepare for this occasion, and there is interest by the organization to revive it.
