Artillery shelling kills 10 ISIS elements in Salahuddin
Shafaq News / A leader in the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) reported the killing of 10 ISIS militants on Monday in artillery shelling of the organization's dens, east of Salahuddin.
"The brigade's forces, based on intelligence and field monitoring, managed to destroy several ISIS hideouts and killed more than 10 terrorists in Al-Awashir village within Al-Zarka sector east of Salahuddin and the border with Kirkuk," the commander of the 21st Brigade of PMF, Khudayr al-Matrohi reported to Shafaq News Agency.
He added that "the PMF artillery dealt with several ISIS targets during the past days, and killed a number of ISIS elements in separate places from the eastern Salahuddin regions."
Al-Matrouhi pointed out that "the continued pursuit of ISIS dens through the night ambushes and the continuous patrols throughout the responsibility sectors east of Salahuddin ," noting that "all ISIS attacks are carried out with motorcycles and then disappear ."
The overlapping areas of eastern Salahuddin between the borders of Diyala and Kirkuk provinces are among the hot spots for armed organizations and witnesses continuous security exposures and operations since 2014 until now.
