An Iraqi family quarantined after coming from Iran and China

Shafaq News / Basra Health Department called on Thursday, to close the border crossings with Iran, after two deaths from Corona virus were recorded in the Iranian city of Qom, and two cases occurred in Mazandaran in northern Iran.

The Director of Health, Abbas Al-Tamimi told local radio Al-Mirbad that an Iraqi family of 4 people was placed under quarantine in Basra General Hospital (Republican) after coming from China, through Russia and Iran, then to Basra, denying at the same time recording a virus infection in the province so far.

He added that the family consisting of a husband, wife and two children aged four years and two years, arrived in Basra yesterday at p.m. from Iran after having previously left China through Russia and entered through la- Shalamcheh port of Basra, noting the necessary measures have been taken, which he said that their members are in a good health in the quarantine   in coordination with the relevant authorities.

The mysterious virus appeared in China, for the first time on December 12, 2019, in the city of Wuhan (center), but Beijing officially revealed it in mid-of last January.

World Health Organization earlier declared a state of emergency on an international scale to counter the outbreak of the virus, which later spread to several countries, causing panic throughout the world.

Beijing reported an increase in deaths from the virus inside China to two thousand and 500 people, and more than 74 thousand and 185 infected.
