Al-Kadhimi arrives Mosul on the anniversary of ISIS invasion
Shafaq News / The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa al-Kadhimi arrived on Wednesday, Mosul city, the local capital of Nineveh Governorate, northern Iraq.
A brief government statement said today that Al-Kadhimi is visiting Mosul "on the anniversary of its occupation by ISIS terrorist gangs."
Yesterday, the governor of Nineveh issued a total curfew to be applied today, with the exceptions granted by the crisis cell, except for ambulances, in conjunction with Al-Kadhimi’s visit.
It is noteworthy that ISIS had imposed control on areas estimated at two thirds of the area of Iraq in mid-2014, after which Iraqi forces backed by the international coalition led by the United States of America launched a military campaign that lasted for three years to expel the extremist organization from those areas.
