A bloc concerned from "special amnesty" for prisoners in Iraq

Shafaq News / The National Approach bloc impend on Monday the presidents and ministers of legal and social accountability after they started issuing the "special amnesty" decision.

"We warn from taking quick decisions that open serious gaps for amnesties for crimes and criminals who have threatened security and public order, looting and stealing people's money and similar crimes with broad and general effects," the bloc leader Ammar Tohma said in a statement reported to Shafaq News.

He added, "Everyone should remember the large efforts and sacrifices made by the security forces to bring criminals to justice and end their danger," explaining that "the security and social consequences that contains any gap included in special amnesty decisions which will be difficult to contain or manage its repercussions."

Tohma added that "whoever exceeds these constitutional and legal controls , limitations and endangers the security of Iraqi society to confuse or provides a means of survival for a corrupt and a thief of public funds, he will be subjected to accountability, legal, historical and societal accountability."

It is noteworthy that the resigned Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi yesterday sent a recommendation to the President of the Republic, Barham Salih to issue a special amnesty to the convicts to avoid the spread of Corona epidemic among the prisoners.
