The budget bill draft has not yet reached the Parliament, a Parliamentary Committee revealed

Shafaq News / The Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed on Thursday that the general budget bill draft for the year 2020 has not yet reached the Parliament.

Committee member Jamal Kojar told Shafaq News agency, "the Parliamentary Finance Committee is not able to view the details of the law draft until after it reaches the parliament", adding, "When the budget reaches the Parliament, the Presidency will send it to the Finance Committee, after which the committee will request a first reading, and distribute the law draft to the concerned committees and representatives in preparation for the second reading and voting in the next sessions".

On September 14, the Iraqi Council of Ministers approved the federal budget bill draft for the year 2020, indicating that it was submitted to the council of Representatives.

The Parliamentary Economic and Investment Committee revealed, earlier, that the the federal budget deficit for 2020 amounted to 45%.
