The Parliamentary election law must be amended, Iraqi MP says

Shafaq News / The head of the Bayariq Al-Khair Parliamentary Bloc, Muhammad Al-Khalidi, revealed today that a paragraph in the Parliamentary election law allows reliance on manual counting.

Al-Khalidi told Shafaq News agency, "We support amending the Parliamentary election law, especially the biometric card and the manual counting paragraphs."

He added, "amending some paragraphs of the election law has become very necessary to abolition manual counting clause," noting, "the failure to amend the law will allow fraud to take over the upcoming elections."
