The Iraqi President stresses to respect sovereignty of Iraq

Shafaq News / The Iraqi President, Barham Salih and the US ambassador to Baghdad, Matthew Teller, affirmed today, Sunday, to "respect sovereignty of Iraq and reject any interference."

The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement received by Shafaq News agency, that "Salih and Teller discussed relations between the two countries, and ways to cooperate in all fields in the context of the strategic dialogue between the two countries, in addition to discussing the situation in Iraq and the region."

The presidential statement added, "The meeting also discussed the latest developments on the regional and international areas."

The Iraqi president and the US ambassador stressed, according to the statement, "the necessity of reducing tensions and resolving outstanding issues with dialogue, and respecting sovereignty of Iraq."
