The Health Committee in the Iraqi parliament: COVID-19 is now less virulent
Shafaq News / The Health Committee in the Iraqi parliament stated, on Sunday, that COVID-19 is now less virulent, according to scientific and medical evidences, indicating that the majority of infections are "not worrisome" and the patients are recovering quickly.
The committee's statement comes despite the fact that Iraq registered more than 4,000 new COVID-19 cases in the last three days.
However, member of the committee, Faleh Al-Ziyadi, told Shafaq News agency that more than 90% of COVID-19 patients are recovering in a very short time compared to the first months of the outbreak, indicating that Iraq is registering an increase in cases, but a decrease in the severity of the infections.
Al-Ziyadi pointed that the medical staff had succeeded in dealing with the pandemic in Iraq with its experience, indicating that increasing the capacities of the hospitals that are admitting COVID-19 patients played an important role.
