Security authorities surround the entrance to the Green Zone

Shafaq News / Today morning, the security authorities imposed a security cordon at one of the gates of the high-security Green Zone in the center of the capital, Baghdad, after hearing an explosion.

A security source told Shafaq News Agency, that a security force cordoned off the entrance of the green Zone on the side of Qadisiyah area after hearing an explosion, and immediately an explosives expert was called to detect the source of the sound.”

The source indicated that the accident was caused by the explosion of an unknown device in front of the "Umm Al-Tabool” mosque near the entrance to the Green Zone, indicating that the accident did not result in any human injuries.

This comes at a time when unidentified persons fired rockets at dawn today at the Green Zone, according to Shafaq News’s source.
