Iraq to impose a partial curfew during the holy month of Ramadan
Shafaq News / Iraq’s Parliamentary Crisis Cell revealed, on Monday, details of the partial curfew to be imposed in the holy month of Ramadan.
The semi-official Al-Sabah Newspaper reported Salman Al-Gharbawi, a member of the Parliamentary Crisis Cell, which follow-up Covid-19 developments, saying a partial curfew, almost from 0700 p.m. until 0500 a.m., will be imposed.
He said it is not possible to impose a total curfew because the citizens have work and social responsibilities.
According to Al-Gharbawi, the restaurants can only offer takeaway and delivery service, and all employees have to receive vaccines.
Earlier, the Iraqi government imposed a nationwide night-time curfew on weekdays and 24 hours at weekends, but infections are still increasing.
Last week, Iraq registered its biggest daily increase in Covid-19 infections taking its total so far to 924,946 including 14,713 deaths.
The health ministry said that Iraq received 336,000 doses of AstraZeneca’s AZN.L COVID-19 vaccine and 50,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccines last month.
It added that that 118,670 people have been vaccinated so far.
