Iraq’s ruling coalition condemns attacks, urges ceasefire in Iran and Lebanon

Iraq’s State Administration Coalition (SAC) on Wednesday condemned attacks targeting state institutions and security forces, while calling for an immediate halt to military strikes on Iran and Lebanon.
The alliance —uniting Shiite, Sunni, and Kurdish forces in government— criticized recent developments across Baghdad, Basra, Wasit, Mosul, Al-Anbar, the Kurdistan Region, and other provinces affecting official sites, diplomatic missions, and personnel. It rejected any breach of sovereignty “under any pretext,” affirming Iraq’s right to protect its territory while opposing the use of its land, airspace, or waters as a “platform for operations” against other states, particularly neighbors.

It offered condolences to victims’ families and backed measures to enforce the law, maintain stability, and curb incitement and hate speech amid what it described as exceptional global conditions.
SAC also expressed solidarity with the people of Iran and Lebanon, calling for a ceasefire and adherence to international law and UN principles, while extending greetings to Assyrian, Chaldean, and Syriac communities on Akitu, the Babylonian-Assyrian New Year marked on April 1.
