Iraq’s President thanks the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq at the end of his tenure
Shafaq News / Iraq’s President on Monday received in the presidential palace in Baghdad, the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Fatih Yildiz, on the end of his tenure.
Salih praised the Turkish ambassador efforts to develop relations between the two countries, wishing him success in his future duties.
A statement by the Media Office of the Presidency reported that the two sides discussed the developments in the region and bilateral relations between Iraq and Turkey in various fields in a way that “serves the interests of the peoples of the two friendly countries.”
The Iraqi President stressed the importance of laying the foundations for stability in the region and easing tensions, supporting the dialogue and convergence by discussing the outstanding issues, respecting the sovereignty of states and rejecting interventions and attacks, in addition to the importance of joint action to consolidate peace and security.
Turkey did not nominate yet who would replace Yildiz, who held the post since 2017.
