Shafaq News / The Iraqi National Intelligence Service (INIS) arrested on Wednesday a prominent ISIS militant.

An INIS source told Shafaq News Agency, "The terrorist Nimer Sweid, known as “Baghdad tiger” has arrested in an operation in the Abu Ghraib area, west of the capital, Baghdad."

He added, “Baghdad tiger is the son of ISIS leader Ahmed Abdullah Sweid, a member of booby-trapping detachments in the so-called “southern state (Wilayat Al-Janoub)."

In 2017, Iraq declared final victory over ISIS after Iraqi forces drove its last remnants from the country, three years after the militant group captured about a third of Iraq’s territory.

Yet, ISIS still has sleeper cells in several Iraqi Governorates.
