An explosion targets a security convoy carrying US army equipment in southern Iraq

Shafaq News / A security source reported, on Sunday, that an explosion targeted a security convoy carrying US army equipment in southern Iraq.

The source told Shafaq News agency, "An explosive device planted on the side of the road targeted a convoy of a security company carrying equipment and logistical support for the US army, on the highway between Nasiriyah and Basra. No casualties were registered".

For its part, the Security Media Cell said in a statement that an explosive device exploded on a civilian convoy transporting international coalition equipment, on the international road in Dhi Qar Governorate, and the accident resulted in minor damage to one of the vehicles.

The incidents of targeting convoys carrying equipment and logistical support for the US army have been repeated recently, especially in southern Iraq cities.
