Al-Kadhimi promised to "meet all their rightful demands," and showed them that "the government faces cumulative problems, caused by years of mismanagement of the decision makers, and the absence of long-term plans."

He added that "the challenges facing us as a government are great , and all the demands that you put forward are a legitimate and constitutional right."

He pointed out that "the steps that the government has begun to fight the corruption and correct the administration's processes will have a positive impact on the overall performance of the country and the government apparatus."

And he declared, "The demands of the demonstrators all over Iraq completely meet the reform program adopted by the government."

This is the first inspection visit of its kind since the PM took office in May, succeeding the government of Adel Abdul-Mahdi, who resigned under the pressure of unprecedented popular protests.
