First Iraqi gas oil tanks arrives to Lebanon

Shafaq News / The Iraqi embassy in Beirut announced, on Saturday, the arrival of the first aid from fuel supplies to Lebanon, expressing at the same time its regret that the name of Iraq was not mentioned in the Lebanese army statement, which announced a list of countries that provided assistance following the Beirut port explosion.

The Iraqi embassy in Beirut said, in a statement received by Shafaq News agency, that, "based on brotherhood and solidarity with the Lebanese people, the first aid of fuel supplies arrived in Lebanon today within a convoy of 20 tankers With 720 thousand liters of gas oil in addition to two support vehicles.”

The embassy expressed its "regret that the Lebanese army report did not mention Iraq among the countries that stood by Lebanon in its problem, after Iraq was one of the first countries to send immediate medical aid to Beirut, which was estimated at twenty tons of medical materials, in addition to specialized medical teams."

The statement indicated that "Iraq is preparing to send wheat to compensate the shortage, as part of the Iraqi people's commitment to stand by its brother, the Lebanese people."

Today, Saturday, the Lebanese army published a list of 27 countries that it said had helped Lebanon following the Beirut port explosion, without mentioning Iraq.
