Shafaq News / The  Al-Hashd Forces in Diyala announced today, Friday, the destruction of hideouts of explosives, ammunition and weapons for ISIS organization north of Al-Muqdadiya district, 40 km northeast of Baqubah.

 The commander of the 24th Brigade of Al-Hashd, Ahmed Hussein al-Saadoun, told Shafaq News agency that a force from the brigade intelligence and the second regiment and combating explosives, and based on accurate intelligence information and in cooperation with the citizens, was able to find 3 ISIS hideouts in the  Tawakkol village; north of Al-Muqdadiya district.

 Al-Saadoun stated that the hideouts contained logistical and medical materials, medium and light weapons, ammunition, materials for making bombs, hand grenades and military clothes used by the enemy to launch attacks on security forces and communication devices,” stressing that the hideouts are the main arsenal of ISIS in the basin north of Muqdadiya.

 He added that ISIS members were preparing attacks with improvised explosive devices targeting security forces and residents to prevent the return of the displaced to their areas of residence and to keep areas north of Muqdadiyah under the weight of terrorist threat and intimidation.

The 24th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization Forces is in charge of the security file for the regions of Hamrin Basin, northern Al-Muqdadiya district, and the vicinity of Al-Mansouriya district, northeast of Diyala.
