Al-Kadhimi meets Pompeo in Washington
Shafaq News / The media office of the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, said today, Thursday, that the latter received US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at his residence in the American capital, Washington.
In a statement, the Iraq PM office said, "Al-Kadhimi discussed with Pompeo, the most important files of common interest, and ways to develop relations between Iraq and the United States at various levels and fields".
The statement indicated that, "the file of economic relations and cooperation in the fields of development and investment, fighting COVID-19, the cooperation for combating terrorism, and the strategic dialogue between the two countries were discussed", the statement indicated.
The second round of the Iraqi-American strategic dialogue began in Washington DC, on Wednesday.
The Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi and the high-ranking ministerial delegation he is heading arrived on Wednesday, August 18, in Washington DC.
