Al-Kadhimi from Washington: not to succumb to the threats
Shafaq News / The Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi pledged to "take whatever is necessary" to protect society's security from the threats of "outlaws."
The PM who is visiting Washington, said in a tweet followed by Shafaq News agency, "The Basra police chief and a number of security directors were removed from their offices because of the recent assassinations, and we will do everything for the security forces to carry out their duties."
He added “Threats by the killers are unacceptable,” adding that, “We will do whatever is necessary for the Ministry of Interior and Security services to carry out the mission of protecting the security of society from the threats of outlaws.”
Basra has recently witnessed an escalation of assassinations targeting activists.
