Al-Halbousi warns of an "existential Risk" for future generations
Shafaq News / The Iraqi Parliament Speaker, Muhammad al-Halbousi warned, on Wednesday, of an "existential Risk" for future generations, calling for the protection of global security and peace.
Al-Halbousi said during the virtual meeting of The Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament, "It is a pleasure to join you in the Conference in order to achieve effective parliamentary movement and consolidate the friendly relations of our peoples."
He added, "Today we look forward to more cooperation and communication to support legislation that provides a practical vision for sustainable development at the international level, not just regional."
Al-Halbousi warned that "the waste of the world's resources has become a threat to the existence of future generations, and from here it has become imperative for everyone to protect global security and peace, and to prevent bad decisions makers from manipulating with the fate of people."
"Iraq has faced difficult circumstances in the past stage, and it still faces two challenges, which are corruption and terrorism," the Iraqi parliament speaker said.
Al-Halbousi noted that "Iraq today is preparing for early elections, which we hope will correct the past mistakes, and establish a new phase in which the youth are the real representers."
