Shahristani reassures Iran about Badra field: We do not seek to compete or exploit common fields

of common fields between Iraq and Iran.

Shahristani said in a speech delivered in the opening ceremony of Badra oil field , followed by “Shafaq News", that "We hope that the opening of this field would be a good sign for a joint cooperation with our neighbors, who have a joint oil fields border with us."

He added  "We do not want to compete with anyone in this field or exploit common fields, but seek to have a cooperation between the two neighboring Muslim countries for the good of all."

Shahristani said that the opening of the field was complicated more than we though and we faced difficulties in it, but with strenuous efforts , it has been opened ", criticizing the executing company for the delay in the opening for a few months.

He called on the company to complete its work in the field by investment of gas associated with oil extraction, saying, "We will work not to burn the associated gas after today and in use it in electric power."
