“The waves of floods coming from Kefri hills and the north damaged more than 2000 acres of planted land with wheat and barley , calling to speed up in giving compensation for farmers to prevent any economic losses ,” The head of Qara Tapa Council , Rahim al-Kechi told “Shafaq News “.

Kechi called the local government in Diyala province and the Ministry of Water Resources to support the mechanisms and necessary equipment to counter the threat of floods and flash floods during the winter season , indicating that weak potential caused flooding .

Diyala province has announced earlier that more than 1000 houses have been damaged due to heavy rains in all regions of the province.
