Iraq to receive "VIP" aircraft for official delegations by the end of 2013

, indicating that the contract of supplying Iraq with the 45 Boeing planes would be over in four years.

The first giant plane Boeing arrived last Wednesday to Baghdad International Airport as a part of a deal to supply Iraq with 45 aircraft over the coming years.

“The U.S. Boeing Company will equip Iraqi Airways with a VIP plane by the end of 2013 dedicated to the transfer of official delegations and first-class traveling," adding that "the aircraft is within the contract signed with the U.S. company to supply Iraq b 45 aircraft,” The assistant manager of the company , Majid al-Amiri told “Shafaq News”.

Regarding the first plane that arrived within the terms of the contract Amiri said that “it is sophisticated and with high technology and includes 150 seats in addition to 12 seats in first class”.

Iraqi Airways resumed work after lifting the blockade on the country in 2003, but the country's air fleet was destroyed or being outdated as a result of not working with it for more than 10 years.

The company adopted initially on rented planes to conduct flights and signed contracts for the purchase of aircraft from Airbus and Boeing and other corporate giants.
