Iraq to buy five Bombardier British aircrafts

“The Iraqi Airways signed a memorandum intends to get five CS300 aircrafts type Bombardier Aerospace designed by the Department facility in Northern Ireland in the United Kingdom ,” The deputy British ambassador to Baghdad , Marc Bryson Richardson said in a statement for " Shafaq News”.

He added that the option given to the Iraqi lines is to get 11 additional aircrafts of the same type.

Richardson pointed out that the contract will ensure that Iraqi Airways will continue to benefit from the technological expertise in the UK.

The head of Bombardier Aerospace for Commercial Airplanes, Mike Erkamun said that CS300 aircrafts is ideally suited to expand the operations of Iraqi Airways .

“The aircrafts provides the right mix of performance in addition to the terms of providing comfort for travelers and this would enhance the continued success achieved by these aircraft in the competitive market increasingly,” he added.

The figures indicate that the Iraqi state-owned Airways will own 50 civilian aircraft at the end of 2014.
