Iraq plans for fifth round of oil licenses at the end of 2013

Shahristani said in an interview with al-Arabiya TV station, briefed by "Shafaq News", that “a fifth round will include one oil field in addition to the construction of a refinery with a capacity of 300 thousand barrels per day”.

Shahristani said that the sixth round will be launched next year.

He pointed out that the first round will be launched in December, a limited run of the giant Nassiriya field and there is a refinery of 300 thousand barrels near the field.

He stressed that companies will not share Iraq with revenues, but take payment for provided services.

Shahristani stressed that the licensing rounds aim to explore oil sites, pointing out that most of Iraq reserves is not used, especially in the Western desert.
