Iraq imports more than 1,100 MW of electricity from Iran

Shafaq News/ Iraq imports between 1,100 to 1,200 megawatts of electricity from Iran, the head of the Iranian Electricity Industry Union said.

Payam Baqiri said that Iran's total exports of electricity to neighboring countries are 1,400 MW, where 100 MW is also supplied to Pakistan and Afghanistan.

He stressed that according to the Sixth Development Plan (ending in 2022), Iran aims to become a pole for exporting electricity or a major supplier for it.
